East Coast Sunshine Sanctuary is a non-profit organization that strives to uplift people out of poverty by empowering them with self-employment, trauma recovery, and spiritual support. In 2022, the organization was founded by Rae Cyr, an intuitive spiritual advisor and trauma survivor who recognized a need in the community and dedicated to making a positive impact.
Since its inception, the organization has successfully aided numerous individuals in overcoming various traumas, including sexual assault, domestic violence, chronic illness, and mental health struggles. We believe in affordable and accessible education. We also provide resources for individuals to start their own businesses and connect them with local support systems.
All the proceeds earned from our services are directly invested back into the community, ensuring that those in need receive the assistance they require. At East Coast Sunshine Sanctuary, our mission is to support individuals in elevating their lives and achieving wellness through financial and spiritual stability.
We are dedicated to healing the root cause of homelessness: trauma. The organization operates in three phases, starting with a Redistribution Center & Support Groups, followed by Affordable Education, and finally, the development of Supportive Shelters.
Phase 1 involves collecting clothing and food donations and offering pickup services for families in crisis. The organization also offers resources and support to those in need and operates an online "I Can" trauma recovery group, which is monitored by licensed healthcare professionals and focuses on personal development and growth.
Phase 2 involves providing affordable public education on self-employment and social media marketing, with plans to develop makers' spaces and a redistribution center using donated supplies in creative new ways for aspiring entrepreneurs to develop their skills and interests.
Phase 3 aims to provide supportive shelters where residents can receive job training, job support, and start-up support. The goal is to create a more humanitarian shelter model, where residents are given the tools and resources they need to earn a living wage and achieve self-sufficiency.
